GLF AFRICA 2026: Stewarding our rangelands

du 06/05/2026 au 07/05/2026

The event GLF Africa 2026: Stewarding Our Rangelands, organized by the Global Landscapes Forum, will take place on May 6–7, 2026, in Nairobi and online.

This international conference aims to reposition rangelands as critical ecosystems for food security, biodiversity, and climate resilience in Africa. These landscapes cover more than half of the Earth’s land surface and support the livelihoods of around 1.2 billion people, yet they are increasingly threatened by climate change, conflict, and poor management.

The event is part of the UN’s International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists and brings together a wide range of stakeholders, including researchers, policymakers, pastoral communities, NGOs, and investors. Its objective is to promote concrete solutions for sustainable rangeland management, with a focus on land governance, pastoral economies, and technological innovation.

By fostering dialogue, knowledge sharing, and partnerships, the conference seeks to strengthen the rights and livelihoods of local communities while supporting inclusive policies and sustainable investments to restore these vital ecosystems.
