African pastoralist women are seeking to adopt modern pastoral practices to improve their living conditions and address current challenges. They are calling on governments to support research, innovation, and appropriate policies, particularly regarding land rights and sustainable resource management. In the face of climate change, shrinking grazing areas, and conflicts, they are encouraged to combine traditional knowledge with modern technologies, such as improved veterinary services. This transition also aims to diversify income sources, including livestock trade and dairy products, while strengthening their role and voice in political decision-making processes.
